Sidh Baba Ka Mandir (1.5 km) :
Maharaja Bhupinder Singh orginally began building his Palace at this site. It is said that a "Sidh", saintly person, appeared before the Maharaja in a dream and declared that this was the place where he had meditated, Bhupinder Singh shifted his Palace and built this temple; instead.


Chail Palace:
The palace of the Maharajas, built in the late 19th century and the pretty cottages of the complex - that once accommodated the ADCs and guests of the royal party - are now part of a charming holiday resort, owned and run by HPTDC.

Chail has lovely walks and trails that meander through the dense pine forests - the home of barking deer, wild boar, pheasant and a variety of birds. Forest Rest Houses make overnight halts possible. For those interested in sports, Chail has fine tennis and squash courts and a putting green. There are excellent spots along the River Gaura, down in the valley, with opportunities for anglers to tangle with the Himalayan Mahaseer, a localfish. Chail has also the highest cricket ground in the world - 2,250 m above sea level.

Sadhupul
(1360 m) : Halfway between Kandaghat (12 km) and Chail is this village with bridge astride the Ashwani stream. A good picnic spot.


World highest Cricket Ground (3 km) :
Built in 1893, after leveling the top of the hill, the Cricket Ground stands at 2444m and is the highest cricket pitch and polo ground in the world.

Kufri:
A long and enjoyable drive through lush forests and quaint villages takes one to the small but highly popular hill station of Kufri. Its main attractions are the Himalayan Nature Park, a small high-altitude zoo, and the exciting trek and horse rides that leads to the divine Mahasu peak.

Visitors have the facility for skiing here. The skiing season is at its best during January and February. Apart from skiing, Kufri is a lovely picnic spot with a beautiful view of the hills around and the snowy peaks.


Wildlife (3km):
The Chail Sanctuary has "Choral", "Kakkar, "Sambhar" (Deer variety), red jungle fowl and "Khalij" and "Cheer" pheasants. Machan-like sighting posts have been built near a place called blossom and at Khariun. The deodar and oak forests and grasslands around the town are part of the sanctuary. One can see sambhar, ghoral and cheer pheasants at Blossom and Jhaja - where there are pheasant breeding centers. Barking deer and khalij pheasant are often spotted at dusk and dawn in the sanctuary. Treks from Chail to Gaura and Chail to Jhaja are popular.

Tattapani

First visit Naldehra 40 Km from The Destination which is a retreat of unique beauty. It is heavily wooded and is a natural interlude between the oak and pine forests. Naldehra boasts of the highest Golf course in Asia and the only one in Himachal. The Golf course is crowded by magnificent grove of Deodar trees and carpeted with lush green turf.Then proceed to Tattapani situated on the right bank of river Satluj. Visit the historic Lord Shiva caves at a short distance ahead.

Mashobra, Kufri, Chail Palace

This tour takes one though some exotic scenery,valleys and dense pine forest. The view of the snow capped Himalayas is awe-inspiring. At Kufri one can experience a rare Yak ride and visit the mini Zoo (Indira tourist park ) to view some rare Himalayan wildlife. Chail is a charming town and the erstwhile summer capital of The Maharaja of Patiala. Visit the highest Cricket ground in the world situated here. Lunch at beautiful Chail Palace hotel (Note: At Hotel Chail Palace entry fee Rs.100/- per person which is compulsory out of that Rs. 80/-are adjusted in lunch) before taking some memorable pine scented walks through unending dense forests.

Shimla Jakhu Temple, Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Mall, Sankatmochan and Kamna devi Temple

This tour takes one though the various facets and faces of Shimla that have been incorporated in this charming town over the ages. The Indian Institute of Advanced Studies is lodged in the magnificent Viceroy Lodge of the Raj era, the seat of power in India for many years along with being the scene of many an escapade. The imposing Victorian architecture of the lodge along with its exquisitely landscaped gardens are considered to be the pride of Shimla. The state museum has a rich collection of more than 2500 objects. The regional character of the museum is highlighted with a comprehensive collection of Pahari Paintings, sculptures, bronzes and woodwork. Jakhu hill is the highest point of Shimla with a famous temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The Kamnadevi and Sankatmohan Temples have commanding view of Shimla town.
